This is a ARP protocol cache monitor.
ArpCacheWatch monitors Windows ARP cache. This program allows an ARP request to be sent and retrieve the physical address for the specified destination IP address. When multiple packets are to be sent to the same destination, it is inefficient to get the IP address equivalence queried through broadcasts. It is much faster if the earlier result could be read from a cache. The ARP cache contains IP/MAC translations. Every time any Arp resolution of the MAC address is required, there is no time wasted, the cache value can be obtained and used. This program/ tool helps monitor the operations happening in the cache, the set of address being translated, etc. A network administrator would be able to monitor the operation of cache by sending out requests for address translation for one of the destination addresses and see if the whole thing is working properly.
There is a text box available to let the source address to be entered and a button to generate ARP address. You will be able to view the returned MAC address and the manufacturer of the network adapter. The main display area lists all such test results done. The fields in the display list are IP address, DNS name, MAC address and the adapter card that produced the response. Type of the IP address also is indicated; whether static or dynamic. This is just one of many network administration tools available from the developers. Download and installation works without a problem, setting up is easy. This is a good tool.
